Dirt Tracker

£780.00

The Bikepacking.com ‘best bike’ winner of 2024 is back and ready for action.

I’ve long held a huge affection for the Tracker bikes that ruled the roost in post war Britain, with their huge handlebars, kinked top tubes and dirt action attitude. This is my great ‘what if?’. What if the Trackers hadn’t died their natural death in the 1970s and continued to develop into mountain crushing quiver killers?

For overseas customers, UK VAT of 20% is deducted at checkout, so the price you pay will be £650 + postage.  You will be responsible for paying any local tax and import duty when the frame arrives, though in most cases it wont be much more than the money that has already been deducted. If in doubt check with your local customs authority.

The finished article is the real deal – as shreddy and offroad capable as all my other frames, as bikepacking and touring capable as the Scrambler, but all wrapped up in a 29+ assisted ode to a glorious, forgotten past.

For non-UK customers UK VAT is deducted at checkout. Shipping is £170 for USA customers. EU varies between £65 and £110 depending on destination country.  Long haul varies wildly, give me a shout for more info.  Free UK shipping.

Description

I’ve long held a huge affection for the Tracker bikes that ruled the roost in post-war Britain, with their huge handlebars, kinked top tubes and dirt-action attitude. This is my great ‘what if?’ What if the Trackers hadn’t died their natural death in the 1970s and continued to evolve into mountain crushing quiver killers?

So this is my tribute to those fabulous bicycles from that bygone era, bought bang up to date with slack Stooge geometry, clearance for 29+ rubber and all the mounts for those far flung adventures in the misty eyed valleys and peaks of the now. Based on the original Dirtbomb, but with the tank tube removed and a newly designed biplane fork to offer more strength and compliance with an increased offset, this thing rips with the best of them, but like all my steeds will also be the perfect partner for someone that just wants to go for a ride, wherever that may take them. This bike is an absolute passion project for me and something that excites me to the very core.

3 fabulous colours that time travelled all the way from the 1970s – Royal Maroon, Scramblin’ Blue and ’73 Green.

1 size – 18″ with 625mm ETT (459mm reach). This will be good for anyone 5’7 to about 6’2 with suitably sized bar and stem.

For the background story of this bike read my blog post, ‘We need to talk about Trackers!’ over on the Culture page of this website.  Great review from Logan over at bikepacking.com below….
