The Dirt Tracker is the Gravel Bastard’s slightly more sensible older brother, or is that cousin? Crikey, we don’t even know who the daddy is!!
But what we have here is the leading edge of gravel geometry, yep, you guessed it – longer, slacker, but not lower! In short this is forward geometry, ie, much longer top tube coupled with much shorter stem, the wheels out in front rather than under, and what this means is greatly increased off-roadability. All the frames are made to order and as a result all options are open – sizing will be to suit, but to give you an idea the one pictured has a 54cm seat tube, 420mm chainstays, 595mm ett and is suitable for someone 5’11 through to 6’2. If you fancy one, speak to me about sizing first. Tyre clearance is also negotiable – the standard design takes 700×45 or 650×2.1, but fancy a B+ one, just shout. Designed around MTB standard 142×12 rear end, 68mm BS threaded BB, clearance for a compact road chainset though 1X is surely calling. IS rear brake mounts because then you have the choice via various adapters to go either mountain or road on the brakes. Full length external cable routing for brake and rear mech, because its the only way, especially when you’re in the middle of nowhere and you pop a gear cable, you can thank me later, and you will if it ever happens.
In short, a gravel bike with MTB manners; fast and confidence inspiring, big but agile and it’ll out descend any other gravel bike on the market.
NB Price is for frame only. Axle to crown is 400mm so there are loads of suitable forks out there that’ll bolt straight on and work a total treat.
